Water Detection Dogs – Photography for CAPE SPC
One of the great things about being a photographer is the variety of work covered. Give me a job that is based outside and I’m really happy, tell me that involves dogs and then make that really, really happy.
We were tasked with photographing the water detection dogs belonging to CAPE SPC in action on the Wirral. These dogs are capable of saving water companies thousands of pounds by being able to detect water leaks by scent. Where a water company may have to undergo extensive work and cost to detect where a leak is, these dogs are able to discover and then pinpoint leaks. The benefit of this of course is saving the water companies a lot of money in reducing water loss.
Whilst we had loaded up the car with the wet weather camera covers, we got lucky on the day and covered a range of images including the dogs at work with their handlers, identifying leaks, play time and portraits of handlers.
