Yesterday was the one year anniversary of when I last covered a concert with an audience. Cellists Guy Johnston and Sheku Kanneh-Mason were performing a sell out concert at Stoller Hall. I remember the uncertainty of whether it would actually go ahead as the pandemic was looming. It did and it was fantastic but I think everyone was aware that this was going to be the last one for a while. I don’t think anyone thought it was going to be quite this long, though.
I was lucky enough to meet the cellists backstage. No handshaking, just elbow bumping.
Hopefully in the next few months we’ll get to see venues with audiences back in them and they will get to see some amazing performances.
