As often is the case with location portraits, there is just a brief window of time to carry out the shoot so time has to be put in beforehand to find the ideal set up/s to ensure that no time is wasted. Last week we were at The New Club in Edinburgh to photograph Executive Director of UK Hospitality Scotland, Leon Thompson.
The New Club has a variety of opportunities for areas to shoot in. As the weather was kind I was able to make use of two exterior settings as well as two interior ones. As always, we always look for a neutral backdrop as well as the more interesting ones. Neutral walls whilst still creating interest, are not as limiting in use as a more detailed backdrop. A grey exterior wall on the roof terrace (pictured) and a pale yellow wall inside provided the perfect setting for this.
